Configure a custom level for the Internet zone to disable the installation of desktop icons.
Use the Internet Options dialog box of Internet Explorer and, on the General tab, click Accessibility, and make the appropriate changes in the Accessibility dialog box.
Open Control Panel, open Accessibility Options, and on the Display tab, select the Override Web Settings check box.
