Choroid
The middle layer b/t the retina an dthe sclera in the posterior segment of the eye.
-It nurishes the retina.
Ciliary Body Thickened layer of the vascular tunic which contains the muscle that controls the shape of the lens.

An inner structure that looks like a snail-shell.
-Dividedinto 2 canals and the organ of Corti.

Enucleation Removal of a structure such as the eyeball.
Esotropia Condition where the eye deviates inward.
Evisceration Procedure where the contents of the eye are scooped out, but the sclera shell remains connected to teh eye so that a prosthesis can be fitted and have a more natural movement.
Exenteration Removal pf a complete structure and surrounding skin, fat muscle and bone is removed.
External Auditory Meatus Pathway from the pinna (outer ear) to the tympanic membrane.
Exotropia Condition where the eye deviates outward.
Glaucoma Thypertensive condition of the eye caused by too much pressure from fluid.
Goniotomy
pprocedure;
opening is made in the trabecular meshwork of the front part of the eye.
-provider uses a gomiolens during the procedure.
Hypertropia eye deviates upward.
Incus Tiny bone(ossicle) middle ear.
Iris
Musclar ring around the pupil regulating the amount of light that enters the pupil.
-Source of eye color.
Limbus
Ring where the cornea meets the sclera.
-Scleracornea junction.
Malleus Tiny bone (ossicle) in the middle ear that picks up vibration from the tympantic membrane.
Mastoiditis Inflammation or infection or infection of the mastoid bone.
Menier's Disease Most common form of peripheral vertigo and is caused by dilation of the lymphatic channel of the cochlea and accompanied by hearing loss and tinnitus.
Nystagmus Reflexive jerky eye movements as a response to the message of the inner ear.
Microtia Congential deformity of the ear.
Ossciles Tiny bones in the middle of the ear.
Otitis Media Middle ear infection
Perilymph Fluid in the coclea which from the inner to the middle ear.
Puncta Tiny opening of the tear ducts.
Pupil Opening of the center of th eye where light enter.
Mastoid Boen in the skull jsut behind the ear containingtiny air cells that also form a conductive path for sound.
Refraction Focus and direction of light.
Retina Layer of tissue in the back of the eye that is light sensitive.
Retrobullar Space behind the eye.
Round window Membrane covered window from the inner ear to the middle ear.
Sclera White outer skin of the eye, and is covered with a thin protective layer of conjuctiva.
Semicircular canals Three tiny tubes in the inner ear filled with fluid to assist in balance.
Stapes Tiny bones (ossciles) in the middle ear.
Strabismus Condition where the yes are not properly aligned with wach other.
Tenon's Capsule Connective tissue surrounding the posterior eyeball.
Trachoma Bacterial infection of the eye.
Tympanis membrane Thin, delicate tissue seperating the outer ear from the inner ear.
Vestibular Schwannoma A benign tumor arising from nerve cells of the auditory nerve. Also called acoustic neuroma.
Vertigo Dizziness resulting in loss of balance.
Visual Field Total area that can be seen by peripheral vision.
Vitreous Humor Gel-like mass that fills th elarge posterior chamber of the eye.
