Be Fair, Set Standards, Reap Benefits

FLSA training course provides management personnel with the basic skills necessary to understand the provisions of the federal Fair Labour Standards Act and its relationship to employment. Throughout the FLSA training, employees will become familiar with FLSA laws and practices related to minimum wage, overtime, exempt and non-exempt classifications, youth employment, and recordkeeping.

Upon completion of the course, employees should be able to confidently:

  • Understand the basic provisions as set forth by the U.S. Fair Labor Standards Act.
  • Understand how the federal minimum wage applies to employees.
  • Understand how overtime is determined and calculated for employees.
  • Be familiar with the requirements for designating an employee as exempt.
  • Be familiar with FLSA regulations related to minors in the workplace.
  • Be familiar with FLSA required recordkeeping practices.
  • Be familiar with common FLSA mistakes that employers make.

It is important that members of management and human resources are aware of the impact of FLSA on workplace wage and hour practices.

Due to the increasing awareness and litigation surrounding wage and hour violations in the workplace, it is highly recommended that FLSA training for Supervisors is a required course for all management and human resources professionals with employees in the United States.
