Course Description

Fulfilling the call of God requires knowing Christ. Salvation comes through Jesus Christ, and he alone! But once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we must not stop there. The true power of Christ is experienced as you develop relationship with him through daily fellowship. We don't just want you to accept him, we desire for you to know him! This course will introduce you to the character, personality, and divine power of Jesus as Savior.

Methods and Objectives

This course will consist of regular on-campus class-meetings that consist of lectures, written assignments, assigned readings, and quizzes.

TH102 - Week 1: Systematic Theology: Christology (Knowing Christ)

What is Systematic Theology?  Systematic theology is a discipline of Christian theology that formulates an orderly, rational, and coherent account of the doctrines of the Christian faith.  In this lesson, we will define and discuss Systematic Theology and provide an introducation to Bible Doctrine.

TH102 - Week 2: Systematic Theology: Christology (Knowing Christ)

The Person of Christ

Many people think that because Jesus was God, he can't fully relate to us as human beings.  In addition, human beings doubt that becasue Jesus was God and possessed divine power, humans can never really become like Jesus Christ.  In this lesson, we will discuss both the divine and human attributes of Jesus Christ.

TH102 - Week 3: Systematic Theology: Christology (Knowing Christ)

The Atonement:

Was it necessary for Jesus Christ to die?  Did Christ's entire early life earn salvation benefits for us?  What was the cause and nature of the atonement?  Did Jesus Christ descend into hell after his death?

In this lesson, we will address the cause, the necessity, and the nature of atonement so that you'll have a proper theological understanding of what the Atonement is, and did for humanity.

TH102 - Week 4: Systematic Theology: Christology (Knowing Christ)

Resurrection and Ascension

What was Christ's resurrection like?  What is the significance of Christ's resurrection for believers?  What happened to Christ when he ascended to heaven?  The resurrection and ascension is a very important part of the gospel message.  In this lecture, we will discuss its importance by answering the questions above.

The Offices of Christ

How can Jesus Christ be a prophet, a priest, and a king simultaneously?  What does it mean to be a prophet, priest, and king?  Why is that important for believers?  This lecture will answer these important questions and provide you a better understanding of the various offices of Jesus Christ.
