This four hour course will help give therapists the tools necessary to safely and effectively treat those recovering from cancer treatment or with a history of cancer. It will also provide an introduction to working with those who are actively undergoing cancer treatment. Topics will include cancer types, cancer pathology, cancer treatments (e.g. surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and endocrine therapy) and their side effects, the impact of these side effects on function, how to evaluate and treat this special population, cancer precautions and contraindications, the lymphatic system, lymphedema and it's treatment, and outcome measures for the oncology population.  You will receive a password and link after purchase via email for future login access.  Please save this email for future login to course.
