Course Description

This course will focus on providing the basic foundation of OCT image interpretation of Macula scans, acquired with Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography (SD- OCT). The lecture will discuss the most common retinal diseases that present with retinal fluid. The course will also explore diseases’ pathophysiology and important OCT-based considerations in diagnosis and management.

Recorded during our 2023 Fundamentals of OCT Series

Lecture Objectives:

To review in detail the difference between intraretinal fluid, sub-retinal fluid and
sub-RPE fluid, as well as how it is related to decrease in visual acuity  To study the use of OCT-Macular Thickness and High Definition Line scans in
various diseases that present with retinal fluid To demonstrate effective use of various imaging modalities while recognizing
disease-specific characteristics in order to distinguish between CME, DME,
CSCR and Neovascular ARMD
