Prime numbers have exactly 2 factors.   They are divisible only by one and themselves. 

Composite numbers have MORE than 2 factors.  

Square numbers have 2 factors that are the same.  ex) 9 is a square number because 3 x 3 = 9.  If you draw a multiplication array to represent the two factors, the shape of the array will be a square.
