Famous First Words
It’s been said that when writing a book or any literary work, the first line is often the hardest. After crafting those first words, things more easily fall into place. You wonder if that’s true when your book is inspired by God. Every biblical writer had a moment when they were compelled to start writing. With inspiration coming from God, it’s unlikely there was much writer’s block for those first words.
While this “pop quiz” is simply for fun—connecting first lines of books of the Bible with the proper book—let yourself linger for a moment over each set of first words. Consider how each set of words opens its own floodgate to limitless hope and life. The text is from the NIV.
