Certificate of Development in Building Information Modeling (CD-BIM): Part 1 is a national certification exam in collaboration with NISD and other organizations. It is to validate understanding of BIM and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) fundamentals for coordination and other important aspects of projects. The exam is 60 questions that are randomly drawn from a question bank. Each person will have 1.5 hours to complete the exam. You are not permitted to go back on questions after moving forward. Answer the questions to the best of your ability with the answer that is most correct.

Upon successful completion of the exam you will be immediately emailed the temporary certification with your name and ID. Following this, a formal certificate will be sent to you that is valid for one year from the date that you successfully completed the exam.

The exam fee is per exam attempt. The exam can be taken a second time for an additional base exam cost.
