The "mean" is the "average" you're used to, where you add up all the numbers and then divide by thenumberof numbers.

To calculate median the formula is (N+1)/2 th score ,in this case because the N is an odd no. so it will be(7+1)/2=8/2 =4th score i.e 17 so the answer is 17 not 19
