CS Lewis was a novelist, as well as a popular poet, literary critic, theologian, lecturer, and academic. He was born in Ireland and he taught at both Cambridge University and Oxford University. Do you know which his first position was? The answer is Oxford University where he taught from 1925 until 1954. After that he taught at Cambridge University from 1954 until 1963. He is perhaps best known for his Chronicles of Narnia series as well as his Screw tape letters.

He has written many books that focus on Christian themes and was in fact a friend of J.R.R. Tolkien. He married an American writer who died of cancer four years later. He died on the same day that JFK was assassinated. It was also that day that another author by the name of Aldus Huxley passed away.
