Merlin

Merlin holds the fate of Albian in his hands, being the all-powerful sorcerer Emrys. He is kind and compassionate to those in need. With his keen sense of duty, he takes his destiny to protect Arthur, very seriously. He is extremely loyal and protective of  the ones he loves. Occasionally he is seen as clumsy and good for a joke but pretty much, everyone loves him.

Arthur

Arthur Pendragon has a strong sense of duty. He is extremely loyal and would do anything for his friends or his wife; however, he is slow to trust people and sometimes across as rude and arrogant. His destiny lies to unite all of Albian and bring peace to magic users. Sometimes he is caught between loyalty to his father Uther and following his heart. He usually does the right thing at the end and is not afraid to stand up to Uther's iron fist.

Gaius

Gaius is the guardian of Merlin and cares very deeply about him. He is one of the few people who know about Merlin's magic and has sworn on his life to keep the secret safe. Both Arthur and Uther rely on him for advice, as he is very knowlegdeable in both medicine and sorcery. As the court physician, Gaius is is very caring as he treats his patients, most of whom being the royal family. Born before the great purge, Gaius has unparalleled knowlegde of the old religion and helps to instruct Merlin is the ways of his magic. Merlin loves Gaius as a father figure and would do anything for him. Gaius is respected throughout all of Camelot and desperatly worries that Merlin will somehow get himself caught.

Morgana

As the only female child of Uther Pendragon, Morgana is often lonely for company. She spends most of her life believing the lie that she is the daughter of Uther's best friend who was killed in battle. She is very headstrong and often contradicts Uther when she believes he is wrong. She can come across as weak  when she believes it will gain her an advantage but she can weild a sword nearly as well as her brother Arthur. She is also extremely comapssionate and would help anyone in need despite Uther's protests; she does what she believes is right. Upon discovering her true identity, she also discovers that she has magic. She begins to hate Uther for his lies and his decree against magic and seeks to kill him as revenge. She becomes obsessed by this hatred and seeks for a new rule where magic can rule freely. She believes that in being Uther's oldest child, that she has the right to the throne of Camelot, not Arthur.

Sir Gwaine

Sir Gwaine is one of the finest knights in Camelot. While he comes across as humorous and flirty, he is brave and fircely loyal to Arthur and his friends. He has trained in the art of swordplay and his desire has always been to roam the lands without care and without laws. When he first meets Arthur, he does not think very highly of him, thinking that Arthur was arrogant and a bit self obsessed. But after Gwaine sees Arthur's true nature, he begins to respect him in a new way. Gwaine is the one in a crowd of friends, to aloways make a joke about something to lighten the mood. He is quick to defend the helpless but sometimes rushes into things without thinking, which gets him into trouble. He has a certain affinity for strong drink as can often be found at the tavern creating humourous havoc or training hard with the other knights.
