to Hepatitis C Treatment Among Substance Users

Substance users have the highest prevalence of hepatitis C (HCV) infection but are very rarely treated. Despite recent approval of HCV treatment regimens with almost universal efficacy, complete eradication of HCV will not be possible before all patient populations have access to treatment.
Learning Objectives:
1. Describe HCV transmission routes, prevalence among specific patient populations and new developments in HCV treatment.
2. Define barriers to hepatitis C treatment among people with substance use disorders.
3. Review strategies to overcome barriers to HCV treatment among substance users.
