Be able to learn the incidence of Substance and alcohol addiction
Be able to increase awareness of the healthcare costs associated with Substance abuse in the United States
Become familiar with the legal restriction in prohibition of prescription controlled substances by employers
Be able to name three (3) Risk factors for substance abuse among health care workers.
Be able to recall three (3) Physical signs of substance.
Be able to recall three (3) Signs of work impairment in the healthcare setting.
Be able to list at least three (3) Signs to watch for in a suspected impaired nurse.
Be able to describe the framework for patient safety when impairment of a team member is suspected.
