The transponder must be mounted vertically and orientated so the number can be read "right-side up".
The transponder must be mounted on the driver's left side of the car forward of the front roll hoop.
The transponder must be no more than 70 cm above the track.
If the signal will be obstructed by metal or carbon fiber, a 12 cm diameter opening can be cut, the transponder mounted flush with the opening, and the opening covered with a material transparent to the signal.
