During the voyage, they fell forever in love. She did marry Mark of Cornwall, but could not help but love him. The love affair continued after the marriage. When King Mark finally learned of the affair, he forgave her, but he was banned from Cornwall. After a lot of misencounters he died of grief before she could reach him. And she died soon after of a broken heart.
