Learning Objectives:
 

1. To discuss proper use of complementary antihypertensives in order to avoid polypharmacy in PLH thus reducing drug-drug interactions.
 
2. To discuss proper use of complementary antihypertensives in order to avoid polypharmacy in PLH thus reducing drug-drug interactions.
 
3. To understand why mild hypertension in low risk PLH (< 10yr risk for CV events as determined by pooled cohorts) should be given consideration for pharmacologic treatment (in addition to non-pharmacological) because of risk enhancing nature of HIV.

4. To appreciate that use of single-pill combination antihypertensives should be recommended in the majority of high-risk patients and/or patients with stage 2 HTN (>=140/90).
