Learning Objectives: 1. To describe the challenges of finding safe and effective therapeutic targets and the promise of applying human genetics to the challenge. 2. To describe the approaches of exome-wide and phenome-wide association analysis toward identifying novel therapeutic targets, unanticipated indications, and potential on-target side effects. 3. To describe how patient genomic information may be incorporated into clinical care toward the goal of precision medicine.
