Choosing The Right Housing Option For You, In College - Quiz

Finding the right housing option when going to school can sometimes be tricky. Take this quiz to find out which housing option is most ideal for your current situation.

You May Get

Dorms

You should consider living in the dorms! Most dorms don't allow pets and have a roommate matching system. However it does mean that you won't have personal living spaces. They are on campus too so commuting to your classes will be a breeze. This can be a pricier option in lieu of being on campus.

Off Campus Student Housing

You should consider living in off campus student housing! Student housing is off campus, but like an apartment because you have your own personal room and they sometimes allow pets. They are also closer to campus than apartments which is ideal for those without transportation. They most often offer roommate matching. So you don't need to know who your roommates are in order to live there. Off campus student housing is generally cheaper than living in the dorms but further from campus.

Apartment

You should consider living in an apartment! Living off campus in an apartment is a big step when moving out on your own. It is usually more forgiving when you have a pet but it usually won't come furnished. They don't offer roommate matching so living with a significant other can really save your paycheck with a one bedroom; or if you know other people you can rom with, the cheaper your rent would be. Apartments are usually further away from campus in order to be cheaper so it would be suggested to have a car to get to and from school.

House

You should consider living in a house! Living in a house means that you know who you want to live with, perhaps you've lived with them before. You might also have a pet and are looking for a cheaper living option. Most houses aren't furnished so you also have furniture to fill your new place. If you don't have a car, make sure you have a way to get to classes or that the house you live in is close to campus.
