When selecting your flowers, first, squeeze the bloom gently where the petals meet the top of the stem
Put flowers in water as soon as you have cut them.
Remove any wilted petals and leaves and remove any foliage that is going to sit below the water line.
Put the flowers in the fridge.
Look at the tip of the stem, if it’s white it has been burned or is severely dried out.
Trim a quarter of an inch, or half a centimetre off the stems every day.
Always use a clean vase that has been washed, rinsed and dried.
While tap water is fine for most arrangements, the elite in floristry will tell you to only use bottled water.
Mist your flowers daily.
