Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves which is a folk tale was included in many versions of One Thousand and One Nights after it was heard from Hanna Diyab and was later added to the Nights. It's one of the most familiar of the Arabian Nights tales and has subsequently been widely retold and performed again and again in many medi and because the large part of the audience are children, the more violent aspects of the story are often suppressed.
