The Crucible, the epic story of the Salem Witch Trials, was written by Arthur Miller in 1953. The story is set in Salem during the late 1600’s when rumors begin flying about witchcraft. Several people in the town accuse others of being witches, all while the level-headed John Proctor attempts to stay out of it, but is eventually pulled in to save his family.
