Top Health Insurance Flashcards

A health insurance policy is taken out to cover the cost of medical treatment. In some professions and organisations, health insurance is offered as a job perk or incentive to join a certain company, while others will find themselves paying for their own insurance policy. While not all businesses offer health insurance as an employee benefit, it is becoming more common to do so.

Health insurance policies can be very specific and very exclusionary. It is not uncommon to have a separate dental insurance policy for example. Some insurers may also require policy holders to undergo a medical before insurance is offered, while others will require annual checkups. In many developed areas of the world, the state provides its population with at least a minimum of free healthcare however, this is not the case in all countries.
