The birth of Western civilization and setting for the Renaissance. What else could it be but the continent of Europe? Europe is the second smallest continent and is home to over fifty countries of varying sizes. Despite its smaller size, Europe has often been at the forefront of world history due to the role many of its countries played in colonization.
