A court is a tribunal that presides over by a judge or judges. However, in civil and criminal law cases, a magistrate will oversee the proceedings in a court, where a settlement is reached in either one or more sessions. Court proceedings vary from state to state and country to country, but the flow of proceedings remains the same, more or less.
