Top Adverb Flashcards

As you go along your education in just about any language you will encounter the grammatical concept known as adverbs. These words modify adjective and verbs to better describe how, when, what, and under what circumstances that something happened. The most common adverbs end with the ending -ly, however now all adverbs end in -ly. To illustrate this concept we will cover an example.

Consider the following sentence: The lovely girl lives in a dizzyingly tall tower. As we discussed, adverbs often end in -ly and in our example, this is in fact the case. We have two adverbs here: lovely, and dizzyingly. These two words act in their function as adverbs to describe the girl and the tower respectively.
