What are some arterial based diseases?
|
Ischemic hypoxias: HTN, AS, periarteritis, OIS

Hyalin arterial sclerosis
|
Involutional - collagen and hyalin deposited in intima; result of aging but accelerated in DM and HTN

Proliferative arterial sclerosis
|
Reactive, onion skin - damaged endo cells replaced by proliferating cells in intima; seen in acute HT
|

Grading scale for atherosclerosis:
|
0: Normal; 1: broadened light reflex with minimal A/V changes; 2: Obvious light reflex with A/V knicks; 3: copperwire; 4: silverwire
