Benefit Period
Begins on the first day of services as a patient in a hospital of skilled nursing facility and ends 60 days after discharge, provided that the 60 days has not been interrupted by skilled care in any other facility.
Wayfinding
Refers to a signage system that directs patients, family and visitors to their destination. Also includes: directions and alternate means of transportation to the facility, location of parking, patient drop off points, and campus maps
ABN
Advanced Beneficiary Notice: Notice that a patient must sign if Medicare deems a service 'not medically necessary'. It must be signed prior to the service being rendered. If it is not signed, the provider cannot bill the patient for that service.
Concierge Services
Services geared towards the needs of patients and families, to make their experience as comfortable as possible. Includes: comfort lounges, baggage storage and delivery, complimentary meals, reduced hotel rate, cabs.
