The client may be terminally ill but there is a big chance that the person has already gone through a lot of things in the past that the person is proud of. The nurse may want to take time to listen to the client even for just short periods of time. It will be enough to make a lot of people feel great even if they know that their life is slipping away.

There are some clients who would make an effort to look good until the very end so B is not really an option. Doing C might make a person feel worthless. They still have working minds that can make them make decisions on their own. D might not be good too especially if the person would feel isolated instead of feeling that they are given privacy.

Spending time to let clients share their life experiences

Spending time to let clients share their life experiences enables the nurse to know clients better. Knowing clients then facilitates choice of therapies that promote client decision making and autonomy, thus promoting a clients self-esteem and dignity.
