The air contains numerous gases, most in modest quantities, including a few poisons and ozone-harming substances. The most bountiful gas in the climate is nitrogen, with oxygen second. Argon, an inactive gas, is the third most plentiful gas in the environment.

Nitrogen.

The most abundant gas in the Earth's atmosphere is Nitrogen. Nitrogen is a chemical element with the chemical symbol (N). It has an atomic number of 7 and an atomic weight of 14.0067. Nitrogen is a colorless, odorless gas at room temperature. It occurs as a diatomic (N2) molecule. The air contains about 78% Nitrogen. It is a non-metal element. It is also stable with 7 protons and 7 neutrons.

The second most abundant gas of Earth’s atmosphere is oxygen (O2). 21% of the air we breathe contains oxygen. The third abundant gas is Argon (Ar) which makes up 0.93% of air. Although Nitrogen is an inert gas, it can turn to liquid and solid at -195.8°C and at -210°C respectively. Nitrogen is used to reduce the rate of oxidation on the surface of materials. It is also used in making ammonia which is highly used in producing explosives, anesthetics, fuel planes, and fertilizers.

The most prevalent and abundant gas that can be found on earth right now is not oxygen, like what some people may believe, but it is Nitrogen. Nitrogen is considered to be an important gas because this is one of the gases that will make sure that amino acid works.

Amino acids are needed in order to create a protein that is considered to be helpful in the creation and production of cells. Amino acids are also important in creating DNA. Without Nitrogen, this will not become possible. DNA is important so that the genes and traits of parents will be passed on to their offspring. Take note that this is not only true for human beings but also for other living things.

The correct answer to this question is Nitrogen. It is the most abundant gas because it is essential to life on Earth. Nitrogen is found in all proteins and all living systems. The compounds of Nitrogen are also found in food, organic materials, poisons, and fertilizers.

While Nitrogen is essential to life, it can also be very harmful to the environment. Physician and chemist Daniel Rutherford discovered it in 1772. The atomic symbol for Nitrogen is N, and its atomic number is 7. As a gas, Nitrogen has no color and has no odor.
