Avoid high-fiber foods-the dietary teaching plan should include telling the patient to avoid high-fiber foods that could cause blockage. examples of high-fiber foods are celery, corn, peanuts and coconut. the patient should consume plenty of fluids and be encouraged to maintain a high calorie diet that is rich in potassium. choice b is contradicting because the client needs more fluid since he is prone to dehydration. choice c is incorrect since caloric intake should be high. choice d is also incorrect because gas forming foods should also be avoided be client but this is a general answer
