What continent do you live in?

I live in North America in the United States of America. It is a federal republic composed of fifty states, five major self-governing territories, and various possessions. The U.S. is the third or fourth largest country by total area. English is the national language. The United States is the world's oldest existing federation. It is a representative democracy in which minority rights protected by law tempers majority rule.

The government is managed by a system of checks and balances defined by the US constitution. Citizens in the US are subjected to three levels of government including federal, state, and local governments. The local government responsibilities are commonly split between the county and municipal government. The phrase, "One nation under God," is printed on our money, which is the dollar.
