The head of the Pittsburgh Steelers said his team was planning on staying in the locker room in protest during the star spangled banner before the game. There are many sports teams protesting racial injustice in this way. The Steelers will join other teams who have protested President Trump's recent statement about NFL players. He said that they would be fired and not be able to play. The coach of the Steelers told players that if they feel the need to do something then he is going to be supportive of that.

As Americans we have the right to protest. But they are going to do it all together and stand together as a team. He said that the team is not going to let issues or divided individuals affect our team. In Alabama at a rally recently, Trump called for sports players to be fired and the league to fine players who are choosing to protest during the star spangled banner. The Steelers did not mention President Trump and only commented on the league's approach to the issue.
