Sam cannot go swimming, for she forgot her bathing suit.
It is Halloween, so we should eat lots of candy.
I don t like winter, yet my favourite sports are ice skating and skiing.
Sally likes to paint, so she is taking an art class this summer.

Sentence #1 is a simple sentence. It follow the pattern SSV. Sentence #3 is a complex sentence. Although it has two clauses, it does not have a coordinating conjunction. Sentence #6 is a simple sentence. It follows the pattern SSV Sentence #7 is a simple sentence. It follows the pattern S+V+O+O
