The correct answer to this question is D, Jesus is really and truly present, and the bread and wine are not present, after the consecration. Mass is essential to keeping Eucharist sacred. There are many conclusions to how the name Mass came about.

One is that it came from dismissing those who are not yet initiated from the ritual of Eucharist. It is also thought that Mass derived from the closing "You are dismissed." at the end of Mass. The service of Mass is almost the same everywhere. Mass is said at the altar, and when it occurs, two candles must be burning.

The bread and wine cease to be present in their essence or substance after the consecration. Jesus is really and truly present, though the mere appearances of bread and wine remain.
