There are plenty of ways to bake sweet potatoes. All of them include at least two things. You have to skin the potatoes, which can be done with a vegetable peeler. Then, you normally have to cut them up, either into strips or into cubes. If you’re doing baked potatoes, neither of these steps apply. Otherwise, you boil them in water. The water should just barely cover the potato chunks. They’re done when you can push a fork through them and get no resistance.
If you’re going to make baked sweet potatoes, you wash them, and then prepare them as if you were preparing to make a baked potato with a regular potato. That means you need to poke holes with a fork. Depending on cooking method, you’ll end up waiting between fifteen minutes and an hour.
