Both Veterans Day and Memorial Day are holiday's celebrated in the United States. One difference between them is when they are celebrated. Memorial Day is celebrated in May on the last Monday of the month. Regardless of what Day it lands on, Veteran's Day is celebrated on November 11.

The reason for celebrating both days also differs. Veteran's Day celebrates all veteran's who have served in the military. Whether one year or fifty years, veteran's are celebrated. Memorial Day celebrates those in the military who have paid the ultimate price of sacrificing their lives for the freedoms of others at home.

Veteran's day is a day to honor all veterans who are living or dead. Veteran's day is celebrated on November 11th. Memorial day is a day that celebrates and honors veterans who have already passed away. Memorial day is celebrated on the last Monday in May.

Although Memorial day was originally a holiday to honor veterans that have lost their live,s many people treat it as a day to honor all of their loved ones that have passed away. It also usually serves as an unoffical marker for the beiginning of summer. This is usually the weekend that pools open and many people have cook outs, go to the lake or the pool and spend time with their families.
