The book “The Once and Future King” was written by T.H. White. This book was actually based off another piece of literature: “Le Morte d’Arthur” by Sir Thomas Malory. This book actually takes the material from three newspaper serializations and adds a ton of material, as well as cleans up the other material so that it is presentable. The entire novel is actually a commentary on totalitarianism, which was a newfangled kind of politics at the time.

The story follows Arthur of Camelot from the time he was young. It actually begins while he is a young boy, while his father is still on the throne. The book then goes through meeting Merlin, pulling the sword from the stone, and the death of Arthur. That’s what the title translates to: “The Death of Arthur”.
