The answer to this question boils down to one fact: Not all Mexican food can be fattening. This is because like all types of food, some are fattening and some are not. Sources point out that the traditional Mexican food is not fattening since they use lots of vegetables and fruits in their cooking and they also claim that that’s how healthy Mexican food is supposed to be.

However, the Mexican food that you can buy in a fast food are the ones that you should try to limit consuming since the ingredients they use contain several factors why you can gain a lot of weight. Chips and salsa contain too much fat and calories, hard shells except whole wheat soft shells contain added fat and calories, refried beans contain lard, and sour cream and guacamole both have fat.
