Fast food is very dangerous when consumed on a daily basis. It contains meat based carcinogens, it is high in total calories, saturated and trans fat. Studies have shown that people who consume fast food more than twice a week dramatically increase their chances of developing major health issues, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and many other chronic problems.

A diet high in trans fat significantly increases your risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart attack, and stroke. Eating saturated fat can elevate cholesterol levels in the blood. It is also likely to encourage weight gain. Fast food also offers very little nutrient value

To the average person, the fast food industry is probably not considered dangerous unless you have issues with eating fatty foods. Since fast food caters to teenagers and young children, some people think that this causes people at a young age to get into a habit of eating poorly. Healthy foods don’t matter. The health care insurance industry also thinks the fast food restaurants are dangerous due to the amount of fat and calories they serve in their meals.

Some laws have been enacted in order to cut the portions that are being served. Some talk among Congressman has been to heavily tax these large sugary drinks so that people will stop buying them because they can’t afford them. However, it is up to the customer to decide what they eat.
