Increase in temperature on earth-2. melting of polar ice caps-3. unpredictable weather patterns-over the last century, global warming has caused the worlds temperature by 1.2 - 1.4 fahrenheit. this rise in temperature has caused the ice caps in the arctic sea to melt at a accelerated rate, decreasing by over 10% in the last 30 years. in addition, there has been more occurrences of droughts and hurricanes due to global warming. over the past 5 years, there has been over 280 hurricanes a year, compared to only 200 hurricanes half a century ago. the increase in electrical consumption in houses is the cause for global warming. as more fossil fuels needs to be burned in order to generate electricity, more carbon dioxide is released into the air and therefore results in global warming. the increase in oil spills have no relation to global warming at all.
