The liver is the organ that takes the largest abuse from alcohol consumption and is the first organ people think of when they think of damage done to the body from drinking. The reason the liver is the most thought of organ with alcohol consumption is it’s the organ that has provided the most amount of information to scientists about alcohol consumption.

The liver provides many vital functions to your body such as defending against disease and helping your body process foods and store energy and nutrients. When binge drinking, the large amount of alcohol weakens the liver making you more susceptible to illness and eventually leading to malnourishment.
