The Great Gatsby is a novel. It was written in 1925 by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The characters in The Great Gatsby live in a town that was made up by the author. It is in the town of West Egg on the prominent and rich Long Island area. It is taking place during the summer of 1922. One of the characters is Jay Gatsby who is a millionaire and he has many parties at his place since this is taking place in theGreat Depression.

Gatsby is in love with Daisy Buchanan. Daisy is the cousin to the main character who is Nick Carraway. Nick is a graduate from Yale. He is a World War I veteran. He has just arrived on West Egg.
