In the 2nd book of Samuel Araunah offers to give king David oxen for burnt sacrifice and wood. Araunah was a Jebusite who owned the threshing floor on the summit of Mount Moriah. David purchased this site and used it as a site for assembling an alter to God.
Later on in the first book of Chronicles his name is rendered as Ornan which is very similar to Araunah in Hebrew. David witnessed an angel at Araunah’s threshing floor and Gad instructed David to build an later there so he purchased the land.
