What materials did Ancient Egyptians use to build domestic buildings?

Long before the advance in construction materials and the invention of stronger building materials, homes were made out of brick and mud. There is evidence of homes being built out of mud and brick, or a combination of the both to create what was called a mud brick. Mud bricks were used in the Middle East during the Pre-Pottery Neolithic B period. Mesopotamians would form these bricks and leave them to dry in the sun.

Once completely dried, the bricks were used in the city construction. Each brick had a unique shape with some bricks being flat on the bottom and curved on top while others were formed in a square form and then were rounded out to have thicker ends.
