Frank Stella is an American painter, sculptor and printmaker that was most known for his minimalist and abstract art. Because of the simplicity of his art, Stella once said “my paintings are based on the fact that only what can be seen there is there. What you see is what you see”. When it comes to art, many artists like to have deeper meanings or a hidden message in their work, but not Stella; he liked to keep it straight forwards and honest.
Frank Stela’s art transitioned from minimalist paintings and other two dimensional pieces to more elaborate, yet simple, sculptures as he became older and more evolved.
