The drawing and writing instrument that uses ink is the pen. There is a saying about this instrument: the pen is mightier than the sword. This is often said because words can do as much damage, or more than, a sword or weapon of some kind. The power of the pen can also transport us to new places and new times, or back in time.

Whether this is because of a book written in the past, or a painting that shows us a peek of the future, there is plenty of reason for the pen to take us places. Pens have been used since the medieval times by the wealthiest of people, and as things have become cheaper and more efficient to produce, pens are open to everyone with a couple dollars to spare.
