The insect has three main parts of its entire body. They are the thorax, head and abdomen. The thorax contains the legs and wings. The insect has six legs and each leg in on a separate section of the thorax because the thorax has three parts within it. The first part is the prothorax and contains the first set of legs.

Then the mesathorax has the second pair of legs and the metathorax has the third or last pair of legs. The head at the front of the body contains the antennae, eyes and mouth. The eyes may be compound and allow for seeing. The mouth may have different parts. The final part of the insect is its abdomen which has almost a dozen parts to it.
