Giraffes live in the East African Savannah. Did you know that giraffes live only in one continent? Yes, you read that right. Giraffes live only in Africa and they are found in these areas: between Chad which is located in Central Africa and South Africa. That being said, they live in the area of sub-Saharan Africa – Niger, Botswana and Zimbabwe.

The reason why they live in the savanna is because the African savanna is composed of grasslands which almost always stay warm throughout the whole year, with temperatures ranging between 68 degrees to 78 degrees Fahrenheit during the dry season and between 78 degrees to 88 degrees Fahrenheit during the wet season. They stay in the savanna because the area is wet enough to grow trees and shrubs that giraffes can eat for their everyday lives.
