The most commonly known dinosaur is definitely the Tyrannosaurus Rex. This hulking beast of a carnivore is pretty much hailed as the king of the dinosaurs. Tyrannosaurus Rex, whose name means “lizard tyrant” in Greek, was one of the largest and fiercest dinosaurs that lived. The T-Rex has become popular in many ways.

A Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton is the most complete dinosaur skeleton ever found to date with 90 percent of its bulk intact. In addition to the world of paleontology and museums we see Tyrannosaurus Rex in movies and television shows quite often as well. T-Rex makes his appearance on screen in wide roles from the loveable children’s favorite Barney to the ferocious tyrant in the Jurassic Park movies.
